Take responsibility for your treatment and care. Be assertive and be an advocate for yourself.

Make sure you are getting the best treatment available. Take advantage of all the treatments possible (medication, speech therapy, physical therapy, social services, etc.).

Get plenty of sleep.

Maintain a sense of humor.

Tell people you have Parkinson's. Be open and honest. You can help to educate them and relieve their concerns and anxieties.

Live your life to the fullest. Stay active. Get involved with music, arts, dance, or writing.

Maintain a positive attitude and look for small victories every day.
